We have hundreds, possible tens of hundreds of personal stories and may edit and annonimise comments from people who contacted us by email, letter or via the BBC Action Line, as it is a help to know victims of ADRs, withdrawal effects, or loss of a loved one, are not alone in their experiences.
The web site is not yet complete so this will be in time.
We have learned so much from those who have contacted us, from the doctors, professors and nurses who attended our conferences, from those we met at some meetings addressing the subject. These meetings are rarely organised by the Royal Colleges unfortunately, so the people who prescribe rarely hear about the harm caused by drugs and following surgery, due to an individual's intolerance of pharmaceutical products.
Below are a few of the interviews people kindly agreed could be shared, from our conferences. Talks by the doctors are also on the Vimeo web site for your information.
Interviews with frank stories of psychiatric adverse effects, psychosis and suicide with people we met at our conference and during a demonstration organised by psychologist Rufus May, following the sudden death of a young man who could not tolerate psychotropic drugs.
A mother talks about her daughter's suicide. Seroxat (Paxil) SSRI withdrawal effects. Polypharmacy, military personel on SSRI antidepressants.
A father speaks about his medical student son's suicide and the drug Roaccutane (isotretinoin) Accutane in the US.
